Thank you all who attended and supported our charity fundraising evening at the Holmeside Hall club Dunston, Friday 17th December 2021.  It was great to be back and enjoy an evening of terrific entertainment following last year’s cancellation.

The evening was in support of the nominated soldiers’ charities ABF The Soldiers Charity and SSAFA.

Money raised from the evenings auction, raffle, heads & tails was £3,857.00.  Santander support funding and additional £643.00 ROFLOW top up enabled us to achieve a total amount of £7,000.00 for the two charities.

SSAFA provides lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army, or the Royal Air Force.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the national charity of the British Army, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Special thanks to the evenings host Mr Derek Beasley, sidekick Mr Robert Lamb and Santander’s Lorna Fagan.

As usual for the last few occasions the evenings entertainment was from Lorraine Crosby and her fantastic band.

Save the date for this year’s fundraising evening at the Holmeside Club – Friday 23rd December.

Very sad to see the loss of the great man Meat Loaf RIP.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – What we do

We stand at the forefront of support for the Army family, last year supporting 60,000 people in 63 countries around the world. As one of the largest funders in the sector, we award grants to individuals and families, and fund leading organisations that support soldiers, former soldiers, and their families. When we hear of a person or family in need, we aim to respond within 48 hours

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – Our vision

All serving soldiers, veterans and their immediate families should have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – Our mission

We are the Army’s national charity, giving a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers and their immediate families when they are in need.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – What we fund

From helping wounded soldiers to adapt to life after service, to assisting elderly veterans to keep their independence, we’re here for the Army family when they need us. We offer support in six key areas: independent living, elderly care, education and employability, mental fitness, families and housing.

We’ve been working with Reading Force since 2014 to help Army families to read together, even when separated by deployment.
